Shakti Sthapna Diwas (SSD) 22 March

From 2014, every year we observed 22nd March as Shakti Sthapana Diwas (SSD). This day is very important to all members because we started our journey on 22nd March 2003 at Kochi, Kerala. All Shakti units celebrate this day as their foundation day. 

Important aspects of the event are: 

1. The day is marked by a get together of its members with other allied women NGOs& dignitaries from various fields along with women from every city/district/town of your district (area under the jurisdiction of own unit).
2. During the ceremony, we used to give “Shakti Prerna Samman” to an eminent woman who has excelled in her chosen field or had pursued a unique system fruitfully.
3. An endowment “Shakti Support” or “SwaShakti Sahayog”  is awarded to an underprivileged girl or an extraordinary girl between 13 years to 19 years who have shown extraordinary merit in the field of education, sports or arts. It is an annual endowment to help her excel in her chosen field.
4. Normally we arrange a Brief Speech on “Women and Society” – by someone with good oratory skills.
